A Little Bit of God

A little bit of God has gone away,
but very few e'en took the time to pray.
When they took Him from the Cross,
no one really knew their loss,
but a little bit of God has gone away.

A little bit of God took all our sins;
His Crucifixion thus our lives begins.
You could hear the mournful wails
as they pulled out all the nails,
when a little bit of God took all our sins.

A little bit of God has left the earth,
and there will be a dearth of Virgin birth.
Some folks saw his Spirit rise
as He said His last goodbyes.
Now a little bit of God has left the earth.

A little bit of God will win us all –
everyone will answer to His call.
Abstainers will be few
'cause it's the only thing to do.
A little bit of God will win us all.

A little bit of God brought heav'nly Grace.
He commissioned everyone a favored race.
For a Parsi or a Hun
there's a place up near the sun,
since a little bit of God brought heav'nly Grace.

A little bit of God left us to mourn.
Though we may rue the day that we were born,
yet we know that we'll be saved –
just our bodies will be graved,
'cause a little bit of God left us to mourn.

A little bit of God has shown the way.
From now on there will be a brighter day.
To His Kingdom in the sky
we will hie us bye and bye,
and a little bit of God has shown the way.

A little bit of God has saved your soul.
Christ like everyone has played His role.
So take your bread and wine,
'cause everything's just fine.
Yes, a little bit of God has saved your soul.

A little bit of God has gone back Home,
but he left us with the world's greatest Tome,
a book of laws for man
to follow when he can,
'cause the little bit of God has gone back Home.
